Senior Executive Officer / Executive Officer

Key responsibilities:

Report to the Board of Governors and work with the General Manager to increase the number of Path of Democracy’s members, sponsors and stakeholders through successful engagement and operational management.

  • Plan and organize membership recruitment, fundraising and regular events to grow membership base and constructively engage with stakeholders
  • Provide operational and managerial support to Hong Kong Academy of Politics and Public Policy, including promotion, coordination and admission
  • Manage communication channels (websites, social media and newsletters) to increase supporter engagement
  • Assist and support the development of publications
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience;
  • A proven track recording of executing events and managing social media channels;
  • Proficiency with using social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn;
  • Content writing and editing skills;
  • Experience of using WordPress, Photoshop and video editing tools (e.g. Final Cut) would be of significant advantage;
  • Strong organisational skills, detail-oriented and self-driven;
  • Good team player;
  • Strong ability to complete multiple assignments concurrently while balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken in English and Chinese;
  • Knowledge and passion in politics and public policy preferred

It is an excellent learning opportunity which allows the Executive Officer to collaborate with senior leaders across different professions in Hong Kong. Candidate with more working experience could be considered as Senior Executive Officer.

Senior Research Officer / Research Officer

Report to the Board of Governors and work with the General Manager to conduct comprehensive research and studies in various policy areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research projects on “One Country, Two Systems” and other social, political and economic aspects to advance policy priorities
  • Develop policy statements and proposals for submission to the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Legislative Council and other institutions
  • Prepare reports, articles, opinion pieces and other publicity materials to disseminate research results
  • Coordinate with academics, research agencies, community organizations and other policy stakeholders to carry out research activities
Requirements:
  •  University degree or above in economics, political science, sociology, social sciences or related disciplines, such as law and journalism (fresh graduates are welcome)
  • Excellent analytical, writing, numerical and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English, Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Proficiency with social science research methodologies, statistics, qualitative and quantitative analysis (experience in SPSS, Stata or R is of significant advantage)
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and capable of working under pressure
