Path of Democracy (“PoD”) Convenor and Honorary Patron of the Hong Kong Academy of Politics and Public Policy (“HKAPP”), Ronny Tong, along with PoD Co-Convenors Alan Lung (International), Ray Poon (Research), Allan Wong (Internal and District Affairs), Governors Jeffrey Chan, Angel Mak Daley, and Frank Wong, will lead the sixth cohort of students from the HKAPP and members of PoD to Beijing. The delegation plans to visit various units related to Hong Kong affairs, universities, and think tanks. Ronny Tong believes that this Beijing exchange program will help students gain a deeper understanding of the latest developments in academic, political, legal, and other areas between mainland China and Hong Kong, thereby promoting cooperation and exchange between the two regions.

The HKAPP, established by PoD, co-organizes the “Senior Executive Diploma in Political Leadership” course with the The University of Hong Kong – School of Professional and Continuing Education (“HKU SPACE”). The course aims to train and discover young political talents in Hong Kong through systematic professional training, providing students with opportunities to interact and learn from political leaders across different spectrums. To date, the program has trained over 180 students.

The “Senior Executive Diploma in Political Leadership” course arranges experts from various fields to provide training to students. Lecturers include former Legislative Council President Jasper Tsang, former Secretary for Transport and Housing Professor Anthony Cheung, Executive Council member Dr. Lam Ching Choi, and founder of Centaline Group Shih Wing Ching, among others. This year, the HKAPP has nearly 30 students with an average age of over 30, and their professions span multiple sectors, including corporate management, law, accounting, corporate communications, media, politics, and public administration. To date, the program has more than 150 graduates, many of whom have become members in advisory committees of government and public institutions.
